    Huitt-Zollars’ Seattle, Washington office has an excellent full-time Civil Engineer Graduate EIT opportunity for a recent graduate seeking to further their experience in infrastructure design.  The role assists project managers in design of trails, rail transit, roadways, drainage, and site development projects.  The successful candidate will be self-motivated and proficient in MicroStation, OpenRoads, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D applications.  This is a great opportunity for a graduate to embark on their career at a premier design firm and work on notable projects under the mentorship of talented professional engineers.

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Assist project engineers in the development of roadway, trails, transit, drainage and site development design plans
    • Assist in the preparation of project reports
    • Work collaboratively in a team environment with engineers and project managers for timely project completion
    • Learn to develop and produce conceptual, preliminary and final roadway and highway design drawings
    • Learn to prepare roadway plans, detail drawings and project specifications
    • Incorporate changes at the direction of supervisory engineers
    • Participate in design reviews to evaluate design concepts and make corrections to drawings as requested by project managers
    • Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as needed
    • Attend project meetings and prepare graphic materials for presentations and/or documents if needed

     

    Requirements: 

     

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
    • EIT Certification a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Some roadway design experience is a plus
    • Strong interest in obtaining solid understanding of roadway design and safety principles and methodologies
    • Desire to grow personally and professionally
    • Works well in a collaborative open office environment and communicates well with team members 
    • Demonstrates attributes of initiative, resourcefulness and commitment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
    • MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS software experience is a plus
    • HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS drainage software experienced is a plus
