    Huitt-Zollars, Inc. has a dynamic Business Manager career opportunity for an experienced professional at our Corporate Dallas, Texas office.  This full-time role reports to the President and oversees the allocation of the firm’s entire infrastructure to ensure the company benefits as a whole while maintaining a work environment that promotes profitability and quality. This position supervises a staff of 1-2 employees and may require approximately 30% travel contingent upon the need. The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of business management experience at an architectural / engineering firm and a master's degree in business administration.

    • Negotiate leases, leasehold improvements, furniture and equipment, etc
    • Coordinate successful office moves and disposition of assets
    • Evaluate the requirements for and negotiate insurance agreements with assistance from appropriate Vice Presidents (property and casualty, professional liability, life, health, disability, etc.)
    • Manage the organization's fleet of vehicles
    • Manage purchase/lease of office supplies and equipment (copiers, telephones, etc.)
    • Make other day-to-day operational decisions in accordance with the company policies, culture, and desires of the management team
    • Manage and track firm registration
    • Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
    • Handle a variety of business management strategy and operational needs as necessary


    • Minimum 15 years of business management experience in A/E environment
    • Master’s degree in business administration
    • Solid operations management and drive to deliver results with continuous improvement
    • Ability to think “outside of the box”, embrace change, and suggest creative, innovative solutions as it relates to business needs
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and work on many projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
    • Professional disposition with ability to interface with all levels of employees and management with diplomacy
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, written, and communication skills
    • Ability to solve problems with sound solutions and work in strict confidence
    • Proven ability to establish relationships
    • Excellent time management
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as affirmative action plans and procedure manuals
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Vision/Deltek experience is a plus
