    Huitt-Zollars’ Houston office has an immediate full-time Fleet Maintenance Specialist opportunity.  This role will lead our company’s Maintenance Facility Practice and share their maintenance facility operational and equipment expertise with our design team of architects and engineers. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of fleet maintenance facility experience. This is a great opportunity to join a leading design firm with a diverse portfolio of projects.

    Responsibilities:

     

    • Work with practice leaders to develop business plan for maintenance facilities that span multiple markets including Transit, Municipal/Public Works and Federal.
    • Execute business plan and securing work in this specialty area nationwide.
    • Lead and facilitate owner workshops/charrettes to develop program requirements and concept designs for new projects.
    • Be familiar with state of the art vehicle/equipment maintenance practices including specialized equipment, processes, and work flows typically found in vehicle maintenance and shop facilities.
    • Work with architects and engineers in the programming and design of maintenance facilities.
    • Researches equipment, materials and assemblies for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings.
    • Attend and assist with presentations in client meetings
    • Conduct site visits and document findings
    • Review contractor submittals

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering preferred
    • Texas registered Architect or PE preferred
    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in fleet maintenance facilities operations or design and construction
    • Ability to prepare construction documents and specifications for projects
    • Knowledge of building design and construction means, methods and techniques
    • Awareness of sustainable design approaches
    • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks
    • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
