    Huitt-Zollars’ Tacoma, WA office has a full-time Survey Instrument Operator opportunity.  This role assists the Party Chief in all aspects of survey assignments in the field and has room for advancement in land surveying.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enjoys the physical work in land surveying and able to work out doors in all seasons.

    • Assist Party Chief in all aspects of survey assignments including topographic surveys, boundary surveys and construction staking
    • Work outdoors hammering hubs, stakes and general labor
    • Ensure all survey instruments receive maintenance and are in good working condition
    • Drive company vehicle to and from various job sites.
    • Operate survey equipment as necessary 


    • High School diploma or GED required
    • Ability to work outside in all climates
    • Ability to perform physical work throughout workday
    • Ability to lift 60 pounds and use a hammer
    • Valid Washington driver’s license
    • Experience in construction setting preferred but not required
    • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team setting
    • Some previous chainman experience is preferred
