    Huitt-Zollars' Houston, TX office has an excellent full-time career opportunity for a Civil Engineer Graduate EIT with a BSCE from an accredited University. This opportunity is for a New Graduate with 0 to 4 years of experience, advanced AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation. The role will work collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects in Texas.

     Requirements:

    • Produce design plans for public works and transportation projects; roads, streets, storm drain, sewer, water and reclaimed water, trails, schools, utilities and civil facilities.
    • Plan production will include preparations of plan and profiles of streets and other underground utilities common to land development.
    • Assist project manager with design plans, specifications, construction support, and cost estimating and geotechnical coordination.
    • Produce design and construction drawings incorporating information from supervisor, research data and consultants for various projects including land development grading, utility, drainage, paving plans, etc.
    • Research materials and assemblies for design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor.
    • Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings.
    • Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence.
    • Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents.

    Requirements:

    • B.S. in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
    • 0-4 years’ related experience
    • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is a plus
    • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
    • Knowledge of construction means, methods and techniques
    • Ability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications for projects
    • Ability to read redlines and modify drawings accurately
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Detail oriented 
    • Good verbal and written communication skills
